The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed the tragic death of a man following a single-vehicle road traffic collision on Saturday evening, 14th December.
Roads Inspector Cherith Adair from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit stated:
“At approximately 7:10 PM, police received a report of a collision involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa on Carryduff Road, in the Temple area of Lisburn.
Officers, alongside the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, attended the scene. Tragically, the passenger of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, also a man in his 20s, sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.”
The Carryduff Road was closed overnight to facilitate a thorough investigation and has since reopened as of Sunday morning, 15th December.
The PSNI is appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to assist in the investigation. If you have any information, please contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1350 14/12/24, or submit details online at psni.police.uk/makeareport.
