Police in the Organised Crime Branch conduct a house search in Craigavon’s Aldervale region.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch carried out a house search in Craigavon on Saturday 18th February as part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminality within the greater Craigavon area.

The detectives were accompanied by local officers from Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon District and Tactical Support Teams, and searched a house in the Aldervale area of the town.

During the search, officers recovered a quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs, along with paraphernalia associated with the supply of controlled drugs.

Detective Chief Inspector Thornton said that the items seized will now be subject to forensic examination and that their enquiries remain ongoing. He added that this search and seizure is a demonstration of their ongoing commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality and that the supply and demand of drugs is a vicious cycle that they need to collectively break within communities as it feeds wider organised criminality.

Detective Chief Inspector Thornton also urged anyone with information that could help with their enquiries and ongoing investigation to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
