A 15-year-old boy, apprehended in connection with the throwing of petrol bombs at PSNI in Davys Street, Carrickfergus during the early hours of Saturday, has been formally charged and is set to appear in court.
The charges encompass various offences, including possession of a petrol bomb under suspicious circumstances, throwing a petrol bomb, engaging in disorderly behaviour, and assaulting police officers.
His court appearance is scheduled for Friday, the 29th of December, at Belfast Youth Court. As part of standard protocol, all charges undergo review by the Public Prosecution Service.
PSNI officers persist in their efforts to identify additional individuals involved in the incident. Those with information, CCTV footage, or doorbell recordings from the vicinity that could aid investigations are urged to contact detectives in Ballymena at 101, citing reference number 110 02/12/23.
