Witness Appeal: Two Children Injured in Collision - Seeking Information

Authorities are reaching out to the public for assistance after a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in Whiteabbey yesterday, 27/8/2023, on the evening of Saturday, August 26th. The incident led to the hospitalization of two children.

At approximately 6:15 pm, the collision took place on Shore Road. A red BMW, headed towards Carrickfergus, collided with a blue Ford Focus. Emergency medical crews attended to the scene, providing treatment to several occupants from both vehicles, including two children.

Regrettably, the driver of the red BMW fled the scene. Currently, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the driver responsible.

Sergeant Dickson stated: “We urge individuals who were present in the Shore Road vicinity around this time and witnessed the incident or possess dash-cam footage to get in touch with us. You can reach us at 101, quoting reference number 1530 26/08/23.”

Sergeant Dickson, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Newtownabbey Local Policing Team, emphasized, “If you were in the Shore Road area during the specified timeframe and have information that could aid our investigation, or if you possess dash-cam footage, we urge you to contact us at 101.”
