Discover how to begin researching your ancestors at Finding Your Place: An Introduction to Family History with Dr David Hume in Carrickfergus.
This beginner-friendly family history talk is designed for anyone curious about genealogy but unsure where to start. The session will explore how to gather clues from gravestones, family stories and newspaper archives, while introducing important historical sources including 1630s Muster Rolls, 1660s Hearth Rolls, Griffith’s Valuation, church records and family documents.
Dr David Hume will also use real case studies to show how different records can be connected, alongside practical advice to help you start uncovering your own family story.
Light refreshments will be provided.
