Discover more about Northern Ireland’s native trees and the important role they play in the local ecosystem during this guided outdoor experience.

Participants will learn how to identify different tree species and explore the ways trees have influenced Northern Ireland’s landscape, history and folklore.

During the walk, The Conservation Volunteers will explain the work being carried out to protect and preserve local trees, as well as some of the major challenges they face, including invasive species, climate change and human activity.

The experience also includes a visit to the on-site tree nursery, offering an insight into the work involved in growing and protecting trees for the future.

The day will finish at McCusker’s Pub, where participants can hear stories, traditions and folklore connected to Ireland’s trees.
