

An 81-year-old woman has died following a road traffic collision involving a lorry on the Portadown Road in Armagh. Police have named her as Eithne Vallely, from the Armagh area, and are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
An 81-year-old woman has died following a collision in Armagh involving a lorry and a pedestrian on Friday morning.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland has confirmed the woman was Eithne Vallely, from the Armagh area.
Police received a report at approximately 8.20am on Friday, 21 August, following a collision involving a lorry and a female pedestrian in the Portadown Road area of Armagh.
Officers attended the scene alongside other emergency services.
Medical treatment was provided to Mrs Vallely. However, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Inspector Stewart, from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit, confirmed the circumstances of the collision and said enquiries are continuing.
The Portadown Road was closed for a period while emergency services attended and investigations were carried out.
Police have since confirmed that the road has fully reopened.
The Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have dash-cam footage showing the Portadown Road area around the time of the collision.
