Man Arrested After Cash and Drugs Seized in Warrenpoint

A 31-year-old man was arrested after police searched a property in Warrenpoint and seized cash, suspected Class B drugs and drug-related paraphernalia. He was later released on bail while further enquiries continue.

A man has been arrested following the seizure of cash and suspected drugs during a police search in Warrenpoint.

Officers searched a property in the Mourne Drive area on Monday, 27 July 2026. The operation involved officers from the PSNI District Support Team, supported by the Local Policing Team.

Cash and Class B Drugs Seized in Warrenpoint

Police said officers recovered a large amount of cash during the search.

A small quantity of suspected Class B drugs was also seized, along with various items of drug-related paraphernalia.

Newry, Mourne and Down Chief Inspector Adam Ruston confirmed that a 31-year-old man was subsequently arrested.

He was detained on suspicion of drug-related offences, including possession with intent to supply.

Man Released on Bail

The man was interviewed by police before being released on bail.

Police said he had been released to allow officers to conduct further enquiries into the Warrenpoint drugs seizure.

No criminal charges were announced in the police statement.

Chief Inspector Ruston said officers would continue working to protect communities from the harm caused by illegal drugs.
