

Players Against Dementia has been named as the new charity partner of the Northern Ireland Football League. The partnership will launch at the NIFL Charity Shield, where Larne FC will host Coleraine FC at Inver Park on Friday 3 July 2026.
The Northern Ireland Football League has announced Players Against Dementia as its new charity partner.
The partnership will officially begin next month at the NIFL Charity Shield, as Premiership champions Larne FC host Irish Cup winners Coleraine FC at Inver Park.
The game will take place on Friday 3 July 2026, with kick-off at 7.45pm. The match will also be available free-to-air on NIFL TV.
Players Against Dementia is a dedicated campaign focused on supporting former footballers and their families affected by dementia and other neurodegenerative conditions in Northern Ireland.
The NIFL Charity Shield will act as the launch event for the new partnership.
This year’s fixture will see Larne FC take on Coleraine FC at Inver Park in one of the key curtain-raisers for the new domestic football season.
The 2026 NIFL Charity Shield will not only bring together Larne FC and Coleraine FC.
It will also shine a spotlight on an important issue affecting former players, families, clubs, and supporters across Northern Ireland.
