PSNI Update Following North Belfast Attempted Murder Investigation

Police in North Belfast have issued a further update following last night’s shocking attempted murder.

The PSNI said they understand there are strong community concerns following the incident and are aware of inaccurate posts circulating online regarding the injured man’s condition.

Police have confirmed that the injured man remains in a serious condition in hospital.

As the investigation has progressed, the PSNI has also confirmed that the man in custody is Sudanese and not Somalian, as was initially believed.

Police said this remains a fast-time investigation and further updates will be provided to the public in due course.
