Lisa Dorrian Disappearance: Further Arrest Made After 21 Years

A further arrest has been made in connection with the disappearance and murder of Lisa Dorrian, nearly 21 years after she went missing.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Major Investigation Team confirmed that a 42-year-old man was arrested in Scotland on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

He was detained on suspicion of:

  • Murder
  • Assisting offenders
  • Withholding information
  • Preventing a lawful and decent burial

Arrest Made in Scotland

The arrest was carried out with support from Police Scotland and PSNI Cross-Border Transit Officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Kerrie Foreman acknowledged the assistance of officers involved in the operation and reiterated the ongoing commitment to the investigation.

“21 Years of Torture for a Loving Family”

Detective Chief Inspector Foreman said it has been almost 21 years since Lisa’s disappearance and murder — describing it as “21 years of torture for a loving family.”

She again appealed directly to the public, urging anyone with information to come forward.

A 40-year-old woman who was arrested earlier on Wednesday remains in police custody at this time.
