Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is inviting residents, businesses and community groups to have their say on its draft Performance Improvement Plan for April 2026 to March 2027. The public consultation is open until 8 April 2026 and feedback will help shape how the council improves services, local areas and sustainability across the borough.
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is calling on residents, businesses and community organisations to share their views on its draft Performance Improvement Plan for 2026–2027.
The plan will work alongside the Council’s Corporate Plan 2024–2028 and outlines how the Council aims to improve services, strengthen communities and enhance the quality of life for people living and working across the borough.
The draft Performance Improvement Plan proposes three broad improvement objectives for the year ahead:
These objectives are designed to deliver measurable improvements during the next financial year while supporting longer-term goals for the borough.
The Council is encouraging as many people as possible to take part in the consultation.
Feedback can be submitted online via the consultations section of the Council’s website: www.midandeastantrim.gov.uk
The closing date for responses is 8 April 2026.
Interim Chief Executive Valerie Watts said the consultation is a key part of ensuring the Council delivers real value for local people.
She explained that value creation and long-term sustainability are central to the Council’s approach, with ongoing scrutiny of how services are delivered to ensure resources are used in the most efficient and effective way possible.
While some improvements can be delivered quickly, others will require sustained effort over time. The Performance Improvement Plan focuses on demonstrating clear progress within the next financial year.
Every response received during the consultation will be carefully considered and will help shape the final plan.
Information on how to submit a hard copy response is included within the consultation document.
Residents who require the publication in an alternative format, such as large print or another language, can request this by emailing:

Public feedback helps ensure council services reflect the needs of local communities. By taking part, residents and businesses can directly influence priorities for the year ahead and help shape decisions that affect everyday life across Mid and East Antrim.
Residents, businesses and community groups are encouraged to review the draft plan and submit their views before 8 April 2026. Your feedback will help shape how the borough develops over the coming year.
