Drugs Worth More Than £250,000 Seized and Two Men Charged

Police have seized cannabis worth more than £250,000 from a vehicle in Kinallen, County Down. Two men aged 31 and 34 have been charged with drugs offences and are due to appear in court.

Drugs worth more than £250,000 have been seized in County Down following a police operation that has led to two men being charged to court.

The men, aged 31 and 34, were arrested after officers recovered a large quantity of cannabis from a vehicle in the Kinallen area. The drugs are believed to have a street value in excess of a quarter of a million pounds.

They are due to appear before Craigavon Magistrates Court on Friday 16 January.

Charges to Be Reviewed by PPS

The pair have been charged with several offences, including:

• Possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply
• Being concerned in the supply of a Class B controlled drug
• Possession of criminal property

As with all criminal cases, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Stop Followed Report From the Public

The arrests followed a report from a member of the public who raised concerns about a suspicious vehicle in the Crossgar area during the early hours of Thursday 15 January.

Officers from the local District Support Team later spotted the vehicle on the Gall Bog Road in Kinallen. After stopping the car, police discovered a significant quantity of cannabis inside and arrested both occupants.

This drugs seized County Down operation highlights the importance of public cooperation in tackling organised drug crime.
