CARRICKFERGUS – Carrick Amateur Boxing Club on Ellis Street has once again proven itself a powerhouse in the local boxing scene, celebrating a second consecutive year of success at the County Antrim Championships.

The club proudly welcomed the Mayor, Councillor Jackson Minford, alongside Cheryl Brownlee MLA, who came to recognise the hard work and achievements of the young athletes and coaches.

Championship Glory

Dan Ames and Scott Murray both secured gold medals, showcasing their skill, determination, and the top-class training environment provided at the club.
Ruben Bell not only earned himself a gold medal, but also lifted the prestigious County Antrim Belt, cementing his place as one of the brightest talents in local amateur boxing.

Trainer and club owner Jason McDowell expressed his pride in the team:

“Our boxers continue to show incredible commitment. Winning at this level for a second year running proves that the hard work is paying off. We’re proud of the lads and grateful for the support from the community and our local leaders.”
