Victims Named in Maguiresbridge Murder Investigation

Police have named the three victims of the Maguiresbridge shooting as Vanessa Whyte (45), Sara Rutledge (13), and James Rutledge (14). Detectives have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for information, especially from anyone who spoke with the victims in recent weeks.

Police Confirm Identities of Family Killed in Fermanagh Tragedy

Detectives investigating a fatal shooting in Maguiresbridge, Co Fermanagh, have officially named the three victims of the tragedy.

  • Vanessa Whyte, aged 45
  • Sara Rutledge, aged 13
  • James Rutledge, aged 14

The three were members of the same family and lost their lives following a shooting incident reported on 23 July 2025.


PSNI Appeal for Witnesses and Information

Detective Chief Inspector Neil McGuinness, leading the investigation, said:

“Today, our thoughts remain with those loved ones whose worlds have been torn apart.”

He urged anyone who had spoken to Vanessa, Sara, or James in recent weeks to come forward:

“If you are someone that Vanessa, Sara or James may have confided in, please come and speak to us.”

He stressed that even the smallest piece of information could be vital to the murder investigation.
