Police have confirmed that a viable device has been recovered following a security alert in Ballyclare.
Inspector Moore said:
“At around 10:50pm on Saturday, 26th April, police received a report of a suspicious object located in a residential area of Ballyclare. Officers attended the scene, and the device – which has been confirmed as viable – was safely removed for further forensic examination.”
The security alert has now ended and residents have returned to their homes.
Police have thanked the local community for their patience and understanding during the operation.
Inspector Moore added:
“We are appealing to anyone who may have information about this incident to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1655 26/04/24. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.”
