TL;DR:
Police in Derry/Londonderry have arrested two men in their 40s on suspicion of theft, going equipped for theft, and, in one case, driving under the influence of drink or drugs. The arrests took place on Saturday evening, 9 August 2025, in the Clon Elagh area.
Officers from the Derry City and Strabane District Support Team made two arrests during routine patrols in the city on the evening of Saturday, 9 August 2025.
According to Chief Inspector Pearce, officers were in the Clon Elagh area at approximately 6.30pm when they noticed a vehicle driving in a suspicious manner.
Police signalled for the vehicle to pull over, but it failed to stop and instead continued towards the Buncrana Road roundabout, where it eventually came to a halt.
