Two Arrested After Suspected Drugs Seized in Derry/Londonderry

Police Arrest Two in Derry/Londonderry Drugs Seizure

Two people have been arrested following the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected cannabis in Derry/Londonderry.

The operation was carried out on Friday, 6th September 2025, when officers from the Waterside District Support Team (DST), assisted by the Local Policing Team, stopped two individuals acting suspiciously in the Glenabbey Road area.

Cannabis, Cash and Paraphernalia Recovered

During the initial search, officers discovered a large amount of suspected cannabis. A follow-up search at a house led to the recovery of further suspected cannabis, cash, a mobile phone, and drugs paraphernalia.

Chief Inspector Pearce confirmed:

“A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply, and being concerned in the supply of a Class B controlled drug. They remain in custody assisting with police enquiries.”

Police Appeal for Information

Police are urging the public to report concerns or information about the supply or use of illegal drugs.
