Halloween Comes Alive in Mid and East Antrim

Mid and East Antrim is set for a spooktacular Halloween 2025, with three major celebrations taking place across the borough’s main towns, alongside extra activities throughout the week.

From Wednesday 29 to Friday 31 October, parks in Carrickfergus, Ballymena, and Larne will transform into eerie wonderlands packed with:

  • Live performances and spooky walkabouts
  • Fire displays and music
  • Children’s activities and discos
  • Messy play and themed trails
  • Fancy dress fun and fireworks (in Ballymena and Larne, weather permitting)

Inclusive and Family-Friendly Fun

Each event will also feature a relaxed session, designed to provide a calmer experience for those who prefer a quieter environment.


The Big Three Halloween Nights

  • CarrickFEARgus – Shaftesbury Park, Carrickfergus – Wednesday 29 October
  • Hallowena – People’s Park, Ballymena – Thursday 30 October
  • Halloween Hooley – Larne Town Park – Friday 31 October

Tickets for CarrickFEARgus and Hallowena will be available from 7pm, Wednesday 1 October at 

  • Children’s tickets are free (booking still required).
  • Ages 12 and over: £2.25 per ticket.
  • Larne Halloween Hooley is completely free and requires no booking.

Town Centre Halloween Highlights

On Thursday 30 October, the borough’s town centres will also join in the spooky fun:

  • Carrickfergus: Free Spooky Silent Disco at Carrickfergus Town Hall, 12–3pm. A relaxed session runs 12–1pm. (Ticket details to follow).
  • Larne: Fright & Fun Carnival from 1–3pm, featuring carnival games, walkabout performers, face painting, and live music.
  • Ballymena: The legendary Ghostbusters car, Ecto-1, will be on display at the Harmony Hub, 2–3pm, before the evening’s Hallowena.

Movie fans can also catch Ghostbusters II at the Braid Film Club’s Studio Theatre at 3pm. Tickets available at [thebraid.ticketsolve.com]([Insert Link]).
