Service Update from MEA Council: Facilities and Services for Tomorrow

Mid and East Antrim (MEA) Council has issued an important update regarding the availability of its facilities and services for tomorrow. Your cooperation in sharing this information widely is greatly appreciated.

Council Facilities

All Council facilities will be open as normal tomorrow. However, the public is urged to exercise caution when visiting parks and open spaces. Please avoid entering any areas that have been cordoned off for safety reasons.

Pathway Closure

Due to health and safety concerns following the recent storm, the Sentry Hill pathway leading to People’s Park will remain closed until further notice. The Council advises the public to adhere to all safety notices in the area.

Normal Services

Essential services such as:

  • Registration services
  • Bin collections
  • Street cleansing

will proceed as usual.

Community Assistance Hubs

Local Community Assistance Hubs will continue operating at the following locations tomorrow, Monday, 27 January:

  • Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena: 10am-7.30pm
  • Larne Leisure Centre: 10am-7.30pm
  • Carrickfergus Amphitheatre Leisure Centre: 10am-7.30pm

Residents are welcome to visit these hubs for the following:

  • Access to a warm space
  • Charging phones and other devices
  • Showering facilities (please bring your own towel and toiletries)

NIE Networks Support

NIE Networks will have representatives available at the Seven Towers Leisure Centre in Ballymena tomorrow from 11am to 7pm. They will provide advice and support for those currently without power.
