Almost 2,000 people took part in the traditional St. Patrick’s Day trek up Slemish Mountain, celebrating the occasion with a journey steeped in history and cultural significance.

Honouring St. Patrick’s Legacy

The annual event gives participants the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of St. Patrick, who, according to legend, once tended sheep on the mountain during his time in Ireland.

Entertainment and Traditional Music

Attendees enjoyed a vibrant programme of entertainment, with performances from:

  • Portglenone Comhaltas (20-strong traditional music group)
  • Counties Antrim and Derry Country Fiddlers Association
  • Local duo, The Doone Brothers

The mix of traditional dance and music ensured a lively atmosphere, making the event enjoyable for all ages.
