Mayor congratulates recipients of King’s Birthday Honours

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Jackson Minford congratulations all those recognised in this year’s King’s Honours list.

 

“The King’s Honours List recognises the achievements of a wide range of extraordinary people from across the UK,” said Councillor Minford.

 

“It is wonderful to see so many local people recognised, and I would like to pass on a heartfelt congratulations to all those who received this highly prestigious accolade.

 

“Mid and East Antrim is fortunate to have so many people and organisations that go above and beyond to make a difference to the lives of others, and the King’s Birthday Honours are a fitting tribute to their tireless efforts.

 

“Well done again to all those awarded and thank you for all that you do.”

  • Terence Pateman OBE, Chair of Northern Amateur Football League for his services to Grassroots Sport and Community Relations
  • Catherine Burke MBE, Lately Head, Musculoskeletal Services Occupational Health and Wellbeing, Police Service of Northern Ireland. For services to Health and Wellbeing
  • Samuel Crowe MBE for services to the community in County Antrim
  • Robert Dalton MBE Principal, Head of Historical Institutional Abuse Implementation Branch, The Executive Office, Northern Ireland Civil Service. For services to Victims and Survivors of Historical Institutional Abuse in Northern Ireland.
  • Jeffrey McClure BEM, Lately Emergency Planning Officer, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. For services to Emergency Planning
  • Clara Smyth BEM, for services to Fundraising in Northern Ireland
  • Trevor Watson BEM, Part Time Constable, Police Service of Northern Ireland. For services to Policing
  • Wing Commander Richard Williams BEM for services to the Veteran Community in Northern Ireland

Natasha Wilton as Mabon and Mathew Curran as St Patrick join Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly, piper Matthew Wilson from Campbell College Pipe Band, harpist Ursula Burns and Willow Mulholland to launch Belfast’s St Patrick’s Day programme. The city’s rich musical heritage and diversity will take centre stage for 17 days of events and activities, including the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade on Tuesday 17 March, concerts, céilis and taster sessions celebrating traditional music from 13-17 March, Spraoi Cois Lao, an Irish language fun day on Saturday 7 March, ticketed performances, free family entertainment at St George’s Market and a trad trail in venues across the city.
