Major Drug Bust in Newry, Mourne and Down Linked to Organised Crime Investigation

A man arrested by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch following the seizure of drugs worth an estimated £860,000 in Kilkeel has been released on bail as investigations continue.

Class A and B Drugs Seized in Kilkeel

The arrest followed a proactive search operation on Thursday, 10th April, at a property in the Carrigenagh Road area of Kilkeel. During the search, police recovered a substantial quantity of Class A and Class B controlled drugs, including suspected cocaine and cannabis.

The seizure is considered a significant blow against the illegal drug trade in the Newry, Mourne and Down area, highlighting the continued efforts of the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch to disrupt criminal networks across Northern Ireland.
