Extradited Man to Face Charges Over 2019 Belfast Offences

A 41-year-old man has been extradited from the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland to face charges of sexual assault and handling stolen goods relating to incidents that took place in Belfast in April 2019.

The man had initially been arrested by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) shortly after the alleged offences but skipped bail and had been evading justice since.


Arrest and Extradition

On 21st June 2025, authorities in the Republic of Ireland arrested the man under an extradition warrant. After a series of legal proceedings, the extradition was completed on Thursday, 31st July 2025, with the man being formally returned to Northern Ireland.


Court Appearance Today

The suspect is due to appear before Laganside Magistrates Court in Belfast later today, where he will face charges connected to the 2019 incidents.
