Man Charged After Police Vehicle Rammed

Man to Appear in Court After Ballymagorry Incident

Police have confirmed that a man has been charged to court after a patrol vehicle was rammed in the Ballymagorry area of Derry City & Strabane on Saturday, 20th September.

Two police officers were injured in the collision.

The 26-year-old faces several charges, including:

  • Assault on police
  • Resisting police
  • Attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to resist apprehension
  • Possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence
  • Driving with excess alcohol in his breath
  • Attempting to cause grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving
  • Dangerous driving
  • Driving while unfit through drink or drugs
  • Using a motor vehicle without insurance

Court Appearance Scheduled

The man is due to appear before Londonderry Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22nd September.

As with all cases, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).
