Man Arrested on Drug Offences After Car Search in Belfast

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Belfast on multiple drug offences following the stop and search of a vehicle. Police seized Class A, B and C drugs, cash, and fireworks. The man remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Police in Belfast have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of multiple drug offences after a vehicle was searched in the Dunbar Link area of the city on Tuesday, 15 July 2025.

Incident Timeline

Chief Inspector Mullan said officers first received a report around 2.20pm regarding a vehicle being driven erratically in the Westland Road area of north Belfast.
Three men reportedly exited the vehicle and caused criminal damage to another car before fleeing the scene.

The vehicle was later located and stopped by police in south Belfast, where a quantity of drugs was discovered inside.

Follow-Up Search and Arrest

A follow-up search of a related property led to the discovery of:

  • Additional quantities of Class A, B, and C drugs
  • A sum of cash
  • A quantity of fireworks, believed to be held without a licence

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of:

  • Possession of Class A, B, and C drugs
  • Possession of drugs with intent to supply
  • Possession of fireworks without a licence

He is currently in police custody, assisting officers with ongoing enquiries.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or who may have information that could help with their investigation to contact 101, quoting reference number 871 of 15/07/25.
