Carrickfergus is set to host an event aimed at supporting men’s mental health with the launch of Lads Night at Nicola Michelle Aesthetics. The event, scheduled for Friday, 13th September, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, will provide a much-needed safe space for men to connect, share experiences, and seek guidance on mental health issues.
The idea for Lads Night was born from a growing recognition of the lack of supportive environments available for men to openly discuss their challenges. While numerous events and gatherings exist for women, similar opportunities for men are relatively scarce. Nicola, the owner of Nicola Michelle Aesthetics, has seen firsthand the positive impact that such events can have on women and felt compelled to offer the same support to men in the community.
In a generous move, Nicola has offered her business premises free of charge to host this inaugural event. “Men often don’t have the same opportunities to talk openly about their mental health,” she said. “Creating a safe and supportive space where they can do that is so important.”
Adding to the event’s significance, Graeme from Ulster Motivational will be speaking and offering his expertise entirely free of charge. Graeme, who has a background in overcoming personal adversity, has dedicated his life to helping others find motivation and strength. Through his own journey, he has gained deep insights into mental health and resilience, making him a powerful voice for those facing similar struggles. His contributions to this event reflect his commitment to giving back to the community and helping men navigate their mental health challenges.
The male-only gathering aims to foster a sense of community among attendees, offering them the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who may be facing similar struggles. With spaces limited, those interested are encouraged to secure their tickets early.
