Irish comedian and singer Garron Noone, who had amassed 1.7 million followers on TikTok, has apparently deleted or deactivated his Instagram and TikTok accounts following a backlash over comments he made regarding immigration in Ireland.

Backlash Over Immigration Comments

Noone initially posted a video discussing Conor McGregor’s recent White House visit and Ireland’s immigration policies. While he made it clear that he did not support McGregor, he said that the former UFC fighter’s comments on immigration had resonated with some people in Ireland.

In the video, Noone stated:

“There absolutely is an immigration issue in Ireland… The systems that we have in place are being taken advantage of, and that is plain to see.”

He also raised concerns about public safety, cost of living, and government accountability, claiming that silencing concerns could push people towards extremism.

Attempt to Clarify His Position

Following the initial backlash, Noone released a second video denying that he was anti-immigration or aligned with far-right views. He emphasized the need for open discussion on immigration-related issues to prevent the spread of extremist views.

“Some people came away from that video thinking I was anti-immigration, which, to be fair, I didn’t say… But enough people misunderstood that I have to take accountability for being the common denominator in that.”

He reiterated that he condemns the far-right and the Dublin riots, calling those involved opportunists who wanted to cause havoc.

Social Media Accounts Deactivated

Despite his attempts to clarify his stance, the controversy continued to grow. Noone’s management later confirmed to extra.ie that he would no longer be addressing the issue and that he generally avoids serious topics.

Before going offline, Noone signed off with:

“Fk the far-right and fk the far everything.”
