Ending Violence Against Women and Girls Fund launched in Mid and East Antrim

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is working alongside the Northern Ireland Executive to implement the Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) Strategy. As part of this initiative, the council is offering funding opportunities through the EVAWG Change Fund to support organisations in the borough.

What is the EVAWG Change Fund?

  • Launched in September 2024, this fund is part of a seven-year strategy aimed at tackling gender-based violence, abuse, and harm.
  • The strategy seeks to challenge attitudes, behaviours, and cultural norms that contribute to violence against women and girls.

Funding Opportunities

The EVAWG Change Fund provides tiered funding of up to £25,000 to help grassroots organisations raise awareness and drive change in the community.

  • Tier 1: Up to £5,000
  • Tier 2: Up to £15,000
  • Tier 3: Up to £25,000

Who Can Apply?

The fund is open to a wide range of organisations, including:
✔️ Community groups
✔️ Sports organisations
✔️ Arts and cultural groups
✔️ Faith-based organisations

These grants aim to support projects that work towards changing attitudes and preventing violence against women and girls across Mid and East Antrim.

Wider Investment

This fund is part of a £3.2 million investment over seven years, with £2 million allocated to all 11 councils in Northern Ireland for the initial rollout.
