On Monday, 3rd March, Road Policing Interceptors from Omagh and Enniskillen assisted colleagues from Omagh Local Policing Team (LPT) and Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) at the scene of a serious single-vehicle road traffic collision (RTC) in the Dromore area.
Emergency medical teams from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) arrived swiftly and, due to the severity of the collision and the suspected injuries, requested support from the NI Air Ambulance.
To allow for the safe landing of the Air Ambulance, the B-class road where the incident occurred was temporarily closed. Doctors from the Air Ambulance assessed the driver at the scene before deciding to transport them to hospital via road ambulance for further treatment.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the vital role played by emergency responders in dealing with serious collisions. The NI Road Policing and Safety team continues to urge all road users to drive carefully, stay alert, and help prevent accidents on our roads.
Authorities have not released further details about the driver’s condition at this time.
