TV presenters Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have announced the end of their 13-year marriage in a joint statement. The couple, who share two sons, say there is no third party involved and are asking for privacy as they continue to co-parent.
Television personalities Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have announced the end of their marriage after 13 years together.
In a joint statement, the couple said:
“We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.
We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”
Deeley, now a presenter on This Morning, first met comedian and presenter Kielty in 2003 when the two co-hosted the BBC’s Fame Academy.
At the time, Deeley was married to Mark Whelan. Her friendship with Kielty later blossomed into romance, leading to a wedding in Rome in September 2012.
The couple share two sons: Milo, born in January 2016, and James, born in June 2018.
Cat Deeley became co-host of ITV’s This Morning in February 2024, alongside Ben Shephard, while Patrick Kielty stepped into the role of Late Late Show presenter on Ireland’s RTÉ One in 2023.
Earlier this year, Cat made headlines for not attending the funeral of Patrick’s mother in County Down. Her spokesperson confirmed she stayed home to support their two young sons during their time of grief.
“Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day,” her rep said at the time.
In a 2020 podcast interview, Deeley recounted a romantic gesture from Kielty that “knocked her socks off.” On her birthday, Patrick flew from Belfast to Los Angeles just to join her for brunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
“He went home, set his alarm for five, got up, flew to London, then LA… walked into the hotel and sat down for lunch!”

While the couple has chosen to go their separate ways, they have made it clear that their priority remains their children. Their shared message asks for privacy as they continue to co-parent Milo and James.
