£14,000 of Suspected Cocaine Seized in Dungiven – Man Charged

DUNGIVEN, 12 June 2025 – A 64-year-old man has been charged with multiple drugs-related offences following the seizure of approximately £14,000 worth of suspected Class A drugs by the District Support Team (DST) from Derry City & Strabane.

The arrest and charges came after a proactive vehicle stop by DST officers on the Ballyquin Road in Dungiven on Wednesday afternoon, 11 June. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a significant quantity of suspected Class A drugs, believed to be cocaine.

The man has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Class A controlled drug
  • Possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply
  • Being concerned in the supply of a Class A controlled drug
  • Possession of a Class B controlled drug

He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 13 June. All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS), in accordance with standard legal procedure.

This seizure is part of the ongoing efforts by the PSNI to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs and reduce harm in local communities.
