Update on Joniece and Jazmine's Journeys - Wishing Them All the Best from Northern Ireland Online

Searching for a new home check out our property listings

Today, November 10th, Joniece and her family will be returning to London for a critical follow-up surgery and further tests. This visit will replace her current PEG device with a balloon PEG, providing a significant upgrade. This new button PEG sits flush against the skin, promising to be more comfortable and far less noticeable. The benefits are immense, reducing risks of dislodgement, infection, and leakage, making care easier and allowing Joniece to live a more active life. Unlike her current device, this button PEG can be replaced without surgery once the site heals, cutting down on anesthesia and lowering long-term healthcare costs.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of support, donations, and shares that have made this upgrade possible. Thanks to this generosity, Joniece is finally able to access the essential care she needs.

While in London, Joniece will also undergo tests for bowel conditions, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Due to the lack of a gastroenterology team in Belfast, they’ve been waiting since May for these assessments, leading them to the Portland Hospital in London for answers.

This journey holds special meaning for Joniece’s family. Her grandfather endured years of surgeries and long hospital stays due to Crohn’s disease, and the family is determined to find answers for Joniece.

Alongside Joniece’s journey, we’re also inspired by the story of Jazmine, a young girl whose family has been tirelessly raising funds for a life-changing surgery. With each donation, they’ve moved closer to their £20,000 goal and are now just over £1,000 short. This week, they are within reach of securing the surgery Jazmine urgently needs, bringing hope for a brighter future.

From all of us at Northern Ireland Online, led by Jason Hartley, we extend our heartfelt support to both Joniece and Jazmine on their journeys. We’ll be sharing updates as they progress, and we’re immensely grateful to everyone who has shown their support during these challenging times.
