In a proactive move, the Carrickfergus and Larne Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a search today following a postal intercept in Carrickfergus. The operation resulted in the confiscation of a quantity of suspected Class B drugs with an estimated street value of approximately £16,000.

The diligent efforts of the policing team led to the swift arrest of one male in connection with the intercepted drugs. Following the apprehension, the suspect was subjected to thorough questioning during an interview session. Subsequently, the individual has been released on bail pending further inquiries, highlighting the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to ensure a thorough and fair investigation process.

The operation underscores the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the vigilance exercised in monitoring potential criminal activities. The interception of drugs through postal channels reflects the adaptability and resourcefulness of policing teams in addressing evolving challenges in the fight against illegal substances.

The seizure of drugs valued at £16,000 represents a tangible impact on the illicit drug trade, disrupting the flow of substances that pose a threat to public health and safety. The Neighbourhood Policing Team’s commitment to tackling drug-related issues is evident in their proactive approach to enforcement and their continuous efforts to keep communities secure.

As investigations proceed, the Carrickfergus and Larne Neighbourhood Policing Team will work closely with relevant authorities to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the circumstances surrounding the intercepted drugs. The outcome of this operation serves as a reminder of the dedicated efforts of PSNI in safeguarding communities and maintaining a vigilant stance against criminal activities.
