“What inspired you to start your cafe?”
“I’ve been a chef for over 25 years. Before starting here, I had been out of the kitchen for a few years carrying out audits and inspections. Then more recently, I worked as a catering instructor which gave me the passion to get back into the kitchen doing the job I love.”

“How long has your cafe been in operation?”
“It has been operating as Platform 3 since November 2020. It was known as the Edwardian Tea Rooms before I took over.”

“What is your cafe’s speciality or signature dish?”
“The Cups n Carriage events usually sell out quickly, so Afternoon Tea on the train maybe. People also come from afar on a regular basis for our poached eggs.”

“The cafe is an exact replica of the station building in White Abbey.”

“All sorts, but we have a growing base of regulars. Lots of retired people, church groups, walking groups.”

“Again Cups n Carriages. Steak nights once a month. We are holding a Murder mystery night on the carriage in the summer where you get a set menu dinner on the train as part of the experience. Did 3 of these last year which sold out very quickly. BBQ nights. Steam weekends.”
