The heartwarming Christmas ad produced by Charlie’s Bar in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, has taken the internet by storm. Shot on an iPhone with a modest budget of £700, the 2-minute film depicts an elderly man, played by 73-year-old Martin McManus, walking through town after visiting a graveside with flowers. The ad has resonated with viewers, leading to an overwhelming response on various social media platforms.

The video quickly gained viral status on TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, and other channels, amassing over 15 million views. Many viewers have praised it as the best Christmas ad of the year, and some even claim it to be the greatest Christmas ad ever. The emotional and touching narrative struck a chord with audiences, eliciting a heartfelt response online.

Una Burns, the manager of Charlie’s Bar, and Aoife Teague, the video producer, expressed their astonishment at the widespread positive reception. In an interview with GB News, they mentioned being “absolutely blown away” by the response, with Burns describing it as beyond her “wildest dreams” in a separate interview with Sky News.

The success of the ad demonstrates the power of a well-crafted story, even on a limited budget and with minimal equipment. The use of an iPhone and a modest budget showcases the creativity and ingenuity of the team behind the ad, proving that compelling storytelling can resonate with audiences and create a memorable impact.
