Yesterday evening, a man was arrested in East Belfast after a short pursuit by police. The 29-year-old suspect is accused of a number of offences, including aggravated taking and driving away, driving while disqualified, and having no insurance.
According to reports, the incident began when the suspect’s car was stopped by police on Mountpottinger Road. The suspect then reportedly reversed at high speed into an unmarked police car, causing damage and slightly injuring two officers. The suspect then drove into another police vehicle, causing further damage and slight injuries to two more officers. The suspect fled the scene at high speed, but was eventually arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
