To mark the 400th anniversary of his death, the Carrickfergus & District Historical Society and Carrickfergus Museum are bringing a brand-new courtroom drama to the Town Hall.

In this gripping political and historical play, Sir Arthur Chichester (1563–1625), Governor of Carrickfergus Castle and Lord Deputy of Ireland, is brought back from the grave to answer charges of racism and crimes against humanity linked to his role in the Nine Years War.
Written by acclaimed playwright Anthony Russell, whose productions with the Newpoint Players have toured across Ireland and Canada, this thought-provoking drama challenges the audience to rethink Chichester’s legacy. As the jury, your verdict decides the outcome.
