Newtownabbey is set to welcome its own locally-owned food ordering platform, Newtownabbey Eats, on September 17, 2025. The app is the brainchild of Daryl Clarke, an Ulster elite champion boxer and respected youth community worker in Monkstown Boxing Club, along with his school friend Andrew Creighton.

The motivation behind the app? To cut costs for local takeaways and give customers a better deal—while also giving back to the local community.

“I’ve a lot of friends who own takeaways,” said Daryl. “At the boxing club, we order food all the time for youth events, and I kept hearing the same thing—frustration with big-name apps charging massive commissions without supporting local.”

Why Newtownabbey Eats Is Different

  • Lower commission than national apps
  • 24/7 local support from Daryl and the team
  • Menu changes handled directly
  • Community-first approach with charity donations

Unlike large national apps, Newtownabbey Eats is locally owned and managed, ensuring profits stay in the community. Businesses have 24-hour access to support, and Daryl promises to personally assist with menu updates and customer issues—something other platforms simply don’t offer.

“We’re slashing the commission rates, helping shops thrive, and we’re even donating a portion of our earnings to local charities,” said Daryl.

Launch Offer: 20% Off for Customers

To celebrate the launch, Newtownabbey Eats is offering a 20% discount during launch week. The app will be available for download on both Google Play and the App Store starting September 17, 2025.Download Newtownabbey Eats – Available September 17

Supporting Local, One Order at a Time

Daryl’s mission is clear: put Newtownabbey businesses first. With strong community ties and a passion for keeping local money in local hands, Newtownabbey Eats is shaping up to be more than just another delivery app it’s a movement.
