In the modern age of technology and social media, it can be all too easy for us to lose our connection to the great outdoors. We have become somewhat accustomed to being able to complete most tasks at the tap of a screen nowadays which, whilst the simplifying of the more mundane daily tasks can certainly be welcomed, it can have an adverse effect on our physical mobility and exercise which is vital for not only the body itself, but the mind as well.
Forest Fitness NI activities centre aims to introduce people to the outdoors once again, with a huge array of different activities to cater for people of all tastes, and bringing a lot more fun and excitement to fitness than the typical gym setting or walk in the park. With activities including combat sports, airsoft, axe throwing, archery tag and much much more, there genuinely is something for everyone. Whilst the range of bushcraft, assault courses and team building days are perfect for hen and stag parties, 1-1 personal training and small group training is also available.
For those who like getting even more hands-on and perhaps fancy themselves as a bit of a Bear Grylls, the 30-hour Survival experience is absolutely perfect for you. A weekend of challenge and discovery, the ex-military instructors at Forest Fitness NI will put you through your paces, whilst delivering training like you’ve never experienced before! It consists of 3 stages:
Fitness– including a 6 mile hike, cold water submersion challenge and followed by another 6 mile hike.
Survival- From shelter building, fire lighting techniques and wild cooking over a fire, participants will be tasked with building your own shelter to stay overnight, and cooking fresh food provided to you over a fire. After the food you’ll be treated to some exciting Axe throwing before bed.
Airsoft Battlecamp- Early morning starts with battle training, section attacks, pairs fire manoeuvre and room clearance drill. In the final challenge, you will be immersed into a live airsoft gameplay from 11am to 1pm.
This course is ideal for those looking for a challenge or to learn about the military, and experienced Airsoft enthusiasts wanting to dominate the game. A reasonable level of fitness is also expected to be able to participate.
So why don’t you push yourself to see if you have what it takes to survive a night in the wilderness and to see how you would fare in a battle situation, whilst using both brains and brawn. A fitness challenge with a lot of fun and discovery, paired with some great practical knowledge to learn along the way, what are you waiting for?!
