Police in Derry City & Strabane want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day.
Officers have been working alongside Derry City and Strabane Council in the run-up to the day.
Area Commander, Chief Superintendent Ryan Henderson explained: “A significant number of people are expected to visit the District for a variety of events, both in the city and in Strabane. We want everyone to enjoy these events safely by following the advice and direction of marshalls and officers who will be on duty throughout the day.”
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane Alderman Graham Warke said: “St. Patrick’s Day and our Spring Carnival parade is one of the biggest days in our calendar of events, and we’re delighted to see a return of the festivities after an absence of three years. The safety of the public is of paramount importance to us, and all stakeholders have been working hard to make sure everyone involved in festivities across the District, and our visitors, will enjoy a good time while they’re here, stay safe and have a happy St. Patrick’s Day experience.”
Chief Superintendent Henderson added: “St Patrick’s Day celebrations are for people of all ages to enjoy and we ask all of you to do so, safely and respectfully.”
