Jozef Puska, 31, appeared in court on Wednesday evening charged with the murder of Ashling Murphy who was fatally attacked while she jogged alongside a canal.
He appeared before a special sitting of Tullamore District Court on Wednesday evening.
The body of Ms Murphy, a much loved Teacher, was found on the banks of the Grand Canal in Tullamore last Wednesday.
