Police are appealing for information following the report of an aggravated burglary at a house in the Kerrera Mews area of Belfast on Wednesday evening (14th October).
Detective Sergeant Danielle Nugent said: “It was reported that shortly after 8:15 pm, two masked men armed with a knife and a claw hammer gained entry to the property.
“A man in his 40s was threatened before being assaulted and struck with a hammer and he suffered a cut to his face. At this stage it is not believed any items were taken.
“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact Detectives on 101, quoting reference number 1720 14/10/20.
“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
