Police have detained a 38-year-old woman and a 41-year-old male in connection with the security alert that forced Irish Foreign Affairs Minister Simon Coveney to leave a north Belfast peace event on Friday.
The woman was detained on suspicion of having a handgun under suspicious circumstances.
She is currently under arrest, according to police, and is assisting police with their investigations.
The 41-year-old man was detained under the Terrorism Act and is being held at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
The arrests come after police conducted searches in the Ballysillan and Springmartin areas of north and west Belfast on Saturday.
A suspected handgun, two vehicles, a quantity of restricted drugs, and a considerable sum of cash were among the things discovered, according to the PSNI.
