David has shared some of his Recipes with us:

HOME MADE APPLE PIE
A comforting, traditional dish where simplicity is the key to success – one your granny would be proud off.
Cook Time 1 hour
Ingredients
- 300 g wheat flour
- 54 g caster sugar
- 8 g vanilla sugar
- 250 g butter cold
- 8 g of baking powder
- 1 egg size M, cold
- Apple filling
- 1.5 kg apples
- 6 g cinnamon
- 6 g sugar

Additionally: powdered sugar for sprinkling (optional)

Prepare a shortcrust pastry:

From flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, butter (cut into small pieces), eggs and baking powder, knead the uniform dough with your hand or a stand mixer on slow

Form a ball from the dough, slightly flatten it and wrap it in cling film. Put in the fridge while preparing apple filling

Prepare apple

Wash, peel and remove apples, cut into small cubes or grate. Mix with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 60ml of water, cinnamon into the pan cook out the apple 10 mins and allow to cool .

Put half the dough on the bottom of the tray Lay out apple filling , roll out the dough for the top

Bake in a preheated oven

for about 50-60 minutes, until the dough browns nicely, at 180 ° C

Leave the apple pie to cool. Before serving, you can sprinkle with powdered sugar on top
